What is VALTREX and what is it used for?

VALTREX is in the form of tablets containing 500 mg of valacyclovir. It is a member of the group of drugs used against viruses.

VALTREX is available in packages containing 10 tablets or 42 tablets.

VALTREX is used in the treatment of shingles infections. VALTREX accelerates the relief of pain by reducing the duration of pain due to shingles and the rate of occurrence in patients.

VALTREX is used in tissue laying the external body channels, such as the skin and the oral or genitals (mucous membranes) in the treatment of herpes simplex infections (including herpes (genital) located in the genitals).

    • How is VALTREX Used?

    Always use VALTREX as directed by your doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

    VALTREX is used in the treatment of shingles infections;

  • Immune system should be taken 2 tablets at a time in healthy adults 3 times a day (6 tablets in total) for 7 days.
  • In patients with insufficient immune systems, 3 1000 mg (2 VALTREX 500 mg tablets) per day should be taken for at least 7 days. It should be used for another 2 days following the scabbing of the lesions.

    • VALTREX is used in the treatment of herpes simplex infections of the skin and mucous membranes (including genital herpes);

  • Children 12 years of age and older who have an immune system should take 2 1’er tablets a day. In recurrent infections, treatment should be continued for 3 or 5 days. In severe cases, treatment may be extended from 5 days to 10 days.
  • In immunodeficient patients 2 times a day 1000 mg (2 VALTREX 500 mg tablets) should be taken for at least 5 days.

    • VALTREX is used in the treatment of herpes;

  • With a break of 12 hours, 2 tablets of 4’ers should be taken 4 times a day. This treatment is only 1 day.

    VALTREX is used in the prevention of recurrent herpes simplex infections of the skin and mucous membranes (including genital herpes); in the case of;

  • Children 12 years of age and older who have an immune system should take 1 tablet 1 time per day.
  • In immunodeficient patients, 2 tablets should be taken 1 time per day.

    • VALTREX is used in the reduction of genital herpes transmission;

  • In adults with intact immune systems, 9 tablets should be taken 1 time per day in cases of recurrence of 1 or less per year.

    • VALTREX is used as a protection treatment for cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and disease after organ transplantation; in the case of;

  • In adults and children 12 years and older, following organ transplantation, treatment with 4 ’ter tablets should be started as soon as possible. Tablets should be taken in 6’sar hours apart. Although the duration of treatment is usually 90 days, this period can be extended in patients with high risk groups.

    • Your doctor will adjust the dose according to the following conditions:

  • If you are over 65 years old
  • If you have a weak immune system
