What is TEXEF PLUS and what is it used for?
TEXEF PLUS is a combination of cefpodoxime proxetil, an antibiotic from the cephalosporin group, and a beta-lactamase inhibitor clavulanic acid. Antibiotics are used to treat infections caused by bacteria.
TEXEF PLUS is available in the form of film-coated tablets and is taken orally.Alu/alu blister containing 1 box and 20 film-coated tablets is available in the packaging.
TEXEF PLUS is used to treat the following infections caused by susceptible microbes:
-Tonsillitis, pharyngitis (fungs and swallow inflammation)
-acute sinusitis (inflammation of cavities in the head called the sinus)
- Otitis media (only in children)(inflammation of the middle ear)
- acute bronchitis
-Pneumonia (a lung disease = pneumonia)
- Exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
What are the Side Effects?

How to use TEXEF PLUS?
The frequency of doses and doses usually recommended for adults is as follows:
Upper respiratory tract infections:
Tonsillitis (Tonsillitis): Daily dose: 200 mg/125 mg, taken every 12 hours at 100 mg/62.5 mg.
Swallow inflammation (Faryngitis): Daily dose: 200 mg/125 mg, 12 mg/100 mg every 62.5 hours. Acute sinusitis: Daily dose: 400 mg/250 mg, taken 12 mg/200 mg every 125 hours.
Lower respiratory tract infections:
Acute bronchitis: Daily dose: 200 mg/125 mg, 12 mg/100 mg every 62.5 hours.
Depending on the severity of the infection, the dose can be increased to 12 mg/200 mg every 125 hours if necessary. Bacterial pneumonia (vascular = lung inflammation): Daily dose: 400 mg/250 mg, 12 mg/200 mg taken every 12 hours.
Exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD):
Daily dose: 400 mg/250 mg, 12 mg/200 mg taken every 125 hours.
Urinary tract infections
Uncomplicated lower urinary tract infection:
Daily dose: 200 mg/125 mg, 12 mg/100 mg every 62.5 hours.
Uncomplicated upper urinary tract infection:
Daily dose: 400 mg/250 mg, 12 mg/200 mg taken every 125 hours.
Uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis:
Daily dose: 200 mg/125 mg, taken as a single dose.
Skin and soft tissue infections:
Daily dose: 400 mg/250 mg, 12 mg/200 mg taken every 125 hours.
Use in children
Proper formulation should be used in children.
Use in the elderly:
If there is no kidney failure problem in the elderly, there is no need to adjust the dose.

Renal failure:
If you have renal failure, the dose of the drug should be reduced. Talk to your doctor.

This medicinal product contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg per dose of sodium. No side effects are expected at this dose.
TEXEF PLUS contains soybean oil. If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicinal product.
Is It Used With Other Drugs?
Be especially careful when using the following medicines together and consult your doctor.
Antiacids (used for the treatment of indigestion and injury to the gastric bowel system) Drugs used to treat ulcers, such as ranitidine or cimetidine Remover tablets or injectable drugs (diuretics)
